The School Day

Our school day is 8.55 am to 3.30 pm.

When the bell rings at 8.55 am children in Key Stage 1 and 2 line in the playground and are greeted by their teacher and taken into class.

Children in Reception and Nursery gather in their own playground to be welcomed into school by their teacher.

At the end of the day the children are dismissed from their designated door.

Children who arrive after 8.55 am should come into school via the school office. You should also come to the school office if you need to pick your child up early or for an appointment.

KS1 and KS2 Playtimes

Morning

Staggered from 10:00am until 10:45am

Lunchtime

12:00pm until 1:00pm

Afternoon

KS1 – 2:30pm until 2:45pm

KS2 – 2:15pm until 2:30pm

Reception and Nursery Playtimes

In our Early Years Unit the children have access to continuous outdoor provision as part of the curriculum and therefore there are no set playtimes.

Pick Up Arrangements

Please let the class teacher or school office know if someone different is picking up your child from school.

Saplings

Our before and after school club, Saplings, is open from 7.45am – 8.55am and then 3.30pm– 6.00pm.

Nursery

Children can join our nursery from the term after their third birthday when they are eligible for free early year’s education provision, which is 15 statutory hours per week.

At Ashlands this is delivered in the form of 5 sessions of 3 hours

9.00am – 12.00pm or 12.30pm – 3.30pm.

Wrap-around care and lunch is available and we offer a limited number of 30 hours places. For more details about the Nursery please speak to the School Office.
